Lili Business Bank Review

Lili Business Checking Review (2026): Fees, Pros & Cons

Lili Core Plan

Lili Core combines business checking, a Visa debit card and digital payment tools without a monthly plan fee. This review separates Core banking from Lili’s paid accounting plans, linked Savings Account and separately offered credit products.

Lili Banking Quick Verdict

Who Is Lili Core Best For? Lili Core is worth considering for eligible businesses that want no-monthly-fee checking, standard ACH payments, a debit card, MoneyPass ATM access and a retail cash-deposit route. There is no minimum opening deposit or minimum balance.

Check Your Business Needs: Built-in invoicing and Bill Pay require Smart or Premium. Express ACH, outgoing wires and mailed checks carry charges, and payment access remains subject to eligibility and account limits. Businesses planning frequent cash deposits should include retailer charges and deposit limits in their comparison.

Average of 5 Feature Scores: 9.1/10

This average covers five defined comparisons, not every account feature, fee or customer experience.

  • Domestic Transfer Costs — 9.3/10: standard outgoing ACH, outgoing domestic wires and incoming domestic wires.
  • Monthly and Overdraft Fees — 9.5/10: Core’s monthly fee and the stated overdraft fee, not permission to overdraw.
  • Cash Deposit and ATM Access — 9.5/10: availability of a cash-deposit route and provider fees for in-network ATM withdrawals; retailer charges and deposit limits are separate.
  • Outgoing USD International Wire Fee — 8.7/10: the provider fee for an eligible outgoing wire in U.S. dollars, subject to legal-entity eligibility.
  • Expedited ACH Fee — 8.3/10: the provider fee on a $1,000 Express ACH payment; timing and approval are separate.

Lili Core Business Checking: Pros and Cons

Pros

  • No Monthly Maintenance or Overdraft Fees: Lili Core has no monthly plan fee, minimum opening deposit or minimum balance requirement, helping businesses maintain separate finances without recurring account charges. Certain payment methods, ATM transactions and third-party services still carry fees.
  • Free Standard ACH and Incoming Domestic Wires: Standard outgoing ACH transfers and incoming domestic wires have no Lili provider fee. Businesses making routine electronic payments can reduce transfer costs, although approval requirements, transaction limits and processing times still apply.
  • Fee-Free MoneyPass ATM Withdrawals: Lili provides access to MoneyPass ATMs without a Lili withdrawal fee. Businesses that regularly need cash can avoid the provider charges associated with out-of-network withdrawals by using eligible in-network locations.
  • Retail Cash Deposits Without a Lili Provider Fee: Businesses can deposit cash at participating retailers using their Lili debit card. This provides a funding option for businesses receiving physical payments, although retailer service charges and deposit limits apply.
  • Digital Banking and Flexible Payment Options: Lili Core combines web and mobile banking, debit-card controls, ACH payments, wire transfers and provider-mailed checks. This allows owners to manage several routine banking activities through one account, although certain payment methods incur additional charges.

Cons

  • Core Checking Does Not Earn Interest: Lili Core’s checking balance does not earn APY. Interest-bearing savings is offered through a separate account, so businesses holding substantial operating reserves should evaluate whether the available savings options meet their liquidity needs.
  • Invoicing, Bill Pay and Advanced Accounting Require Paid Plans: Lili’s built-in invoicing and Bill Pay tools require Smart or Premium, while additional accounting and tax-management capabilities depend on the selected subscription. Businesses seeking an integrated financial-management platform should compare the ongoing plan costs.
  • Express ACH, Wires and Mailed Checks Carry Fees: Express ACH costs 1.5%, subject to a $0.50 minimum and $20 maximum. Outgoing domestic wires cost $15, and provider-mailed checks cost $3 each. Businesses using these payment methods frequently should calculate their expected transaction costs.
  • Cash Deposits Have Retailer Fees and Transaction Limits: Cash deposits must be made at participating retailers rather than traditional bank branches. Retailers may charge a service fee, typically up to $4.95 per transaction, and account-specific deposit limits can require additional visits for businesses handling larger amounts of cash.
  • Check Deposits and International Wires Have Eligibility Restrictions: Mobile check deposits depend on account history and risk review, with additional conditions for sole proprietors. International wire transfers are limited to eligible registered legal entities, so businesses should verify access before relying on either service.

FinanceProspector Feature Scores

Each score measures a defined feature comparison rather than the entire account. The display scale runs from 7.5 to 9.5, with figures shown out of 10. These comparisons do not evaluate every fee, product feature or customer experience. Read FinanceProspector Editorial Methodology.

FinanceProspector Feature Scores
Feature ComparisonScoreWhat It Measures
Domestic Transfer Costs9.3/10$0 standard outgoing ACH, $15 outgoing domestic wire and $0 incoming domestic wire. Eligibility and transfer limits are separate.
Monthly and Overdraft Fees9.5/10$0 Core monthly fee and $0 stated overdraft fee. This does not establish Core access to BalanceUp or an overdraft credit line.
Cash Deposit and ATM Access9.5/10An available retail cash-deposit route and $0 Lili fees for MoneyPass ATM withdrawals. Retailer fees, cash limits and out-of-network fees are outside these inputs.
Outgoing USD International Wire Fee8.7/10$25 provider fee for an eligible outgoing international wire in U.S. dollars. Sole proprietors are excluded; conversion and third-party charges are separate.
Expedited ACH Fee8.3/10$15 provider fee on one $1,000 Express ACH payment, calculated at 1.5%. Approval, cutoff and settlement conditions still apply.

Payment Options, Team Access and Included Cards, Invoicing and Accounting Connections, and the Provider Foreign-Currency Card-Purchase Fee are not scored here. Unresolved inputs are not treated as zero, and an unscored comparison is not a low score.

Lili Fees and Transaction Charges

Core’s $0 monthly fee does not eliminate payment-method, retailer or ATM charges.

Overdraft Fee$0A negative balance must be repaid; this is not a promise that an unfunded payment will be authorized
Returned Electronic Payment / Deposited Check$0 listed for each returned-item feeA returned deposit can still reduce the account balance

For converted international wires, the agreement describes a 1% commission on the U.S.-dollar principal reflected in the exchange rate, plus possible correspondent conversion charges. Confirm the currency, total charges and recipient amount for the particular payment.

Overdraft Fees and BalanceUp Are Different

The agreement lists a $0 overdraft fee and requires repayment of a negative balance within three business days. The separate BalanceUp disclosure limits that discretionary service to eligible Pro, Smart and Premium customers.

FinanceProspector’s Take — Separate a $0 Fee from Permission to Overdraw
Do not use the absence of an overdraft fee as your cash-flow backup plan. Core does not include the documented BalanceUp service. Keep funds available for scheduled payments, and assess any paid-plan overdraft service on its own eligibility and terms before relying on it.

Lili Illustrative Payment-Cost Examples

These examples apply the documented fee formulas to individual eligible transactions. They exclude unrelated charges and are not approval or delivery guarantees.

Lili Illustrative Payment-Cost Examples
ExampleCalculationProvider Charge
One $1,000 Express ACH Payment$1,000 × 1.5%$15
Two Domestic Wires and Three Mailed Checks(2 × $15) + (3 × $3)$39
One $2,000 Express ACH Payment$2,000 × 1.5% = $30; $20 cap applies$20
One Domestic Out-of-Network ATM Withdrawal1 × $2.50$2.50, plus any ATM-owner surcharge

For retail cash deposits, two transactions charged $4.95 each would cost $9.90 in retailer fees. This is a fee illustration, not a statement that a particular retailer will charge that amount or accept the intended deposits.

Lili Funding, Transfers and Access to Money

Standard and Express ACH

Lili supports outgoing standard and Express ACH through web and mobile access. The agreement makes these transfer features subject to approval and permits account-specific limits.

Standard outgoing ACH has a $0 provider fee. Express ACH uses the percentage, minimum and maximum shown above. Published pages differ on the Express ACH cutoff and processing descriptions. Check the date presented for the actual payment rather than assuming every Express ACH transfer will arrive the same day.

Core’s Outgoing Payment Limits

The agreement lists a combined outbound ACH-and-wire limit of $150,000 per day and $500,000 per month, including Express ACH. It permits lower account-specific limits and states that higher limits are not available to Core customers.

Incoming ACH pushed by a payer is a different route from pulling funds from a linked external account. The agreement lists a $5,000 monthly limit for incoming linked-account pulls. Incoming deposits must match the account name, and posting does not necessarily mean funds are immediately available.

FinanceProspector’s Take — Check the Combined Payment Total
Before scheduling payroll, vendor ACH and wires for the same day, add them together. Core’s published outbound ceiling combines ACH and wires; the methods do not each receive a separate $150,000 daily allowance. Check your account’s displayed limit before committing to a payment schedule.

Domestic and International Wires

Domestic wires can be initiated through the web or mobile app, subject to account history, risk review and limits. Lili’s wire arrangements use Column Bank, N.A.; follow the wire-specific instructions rather than assuming the ACH routing details are interchangeable.

International wires are for eligible registered legal entities, not sole proprietors or sole proprietors with a DBA. New customers may face restrictions during the first 30 days. Country and currency descriptions differ between saved provider pages, so confirm that the destination and currency you need are available before relying on the service.

Cash Deposits and ATM Withdrawals

Cash deposits use the Lili debit card at participating retailers through Green Dot. The help article directs customers to find locations in the app, bring the card and cash to the register, and keep the receipt. Lili does not charge a cash-deposit fee; the retailer may charge, typically up to $4.95 per transaction.

The agreement lists $1,500 per cardholder per day, $3,500 per week and $5,000 per month for cash deposits. A website footnote instead refers to $1,000 per 24 hours, with unclear placement. Retailers also set transaction limits. Confirm your current app limit and the retailer’s acceptance limit before making the trip.

ATM withdrawal is a separate function. Lili lists a $0 provider fee at MoneyPass ATMs and charges for other domestic or international ATM use. The agreement lists a $1,000 daily limit per cardholder for ATM withdrawals or point-of-sale cash back.

FinanceProspector’s Take — Count Cash-Deposit Visits as Well as Fees
A retail deposit route is useful only if its transaction, weekly and monthly limits fit your cash receipts. If a retailer accepts less than your intended deposit, additional transactions or visits may be needed, potentially adding fees. Check both the retailer’s limit and your Lili limit before using Core as the destination for regular cash takings.

Mobile Check Deposits

Check deposits use the mobile app; mailed, in-person and ATM check deposits are not the documented routes. Eligibility depends on account history and risk factors. Sole-proprietor accounts have additional documented conditions, including being open for 30 days and receiving at least $200 per month in qualifying non-governmental ACH direct deposits.

The agreement lists up to $50,000 per month, with lower limits possible for individual accounts or account types. Use the limit shown in the app. Check approval and funds availability are separate; the agreement and help materials describe holds, including longer initial-account treatment. Do not schedule a payment on the assumption that submitting a check image makes the money spendable.

Provider-Mailed Checks

Mail a Check lets Lili print and mail a physical check to a payee for $3. It is different from receiving a checkbook or using the paid-plan Bill Pay tool.

The agreement and help article give different Mail a Check limits. Confirm the amount accepted by the app before relying on this route, and allow for postal delivery rather than treating it as an immediate payment.

Lili Sub-Accounts and Cash Organization

Core’s documented linked Savings Account is separate from checking. The Tax Bucket shown in marketing is a paid-plan feature, not a Core budgeting bucket.

The agreement describes Tax Bucket transfers as moving through the main checking account. Do not assume money placed in a paid-plan Tax Bucket automatically covers debit-card charges without first transferring it back.

Lili Team Access and Cards

The plan table lists team-member access and approvals across all four plans. Available roles and card permissions depend on the business structure and the assigned role.

Administrator and Manager roles are documented for legal entities, not sole proprietorships. Saved pages disagree on whether a Manager can receive debit-card access. Confirm the exact role and card permissions before assigning an employee responsibility for purchases or payments.

Additional qualifying owners may have their own debit cards. The supplied BusinessBuild card illustration depicts a separate credit product; it is not Core’s Visa debit card.

Lili Accounting, Invoicing and Bill Pay

Accounting and Tax Tools on Paid Plans

Lili’s paid plans add tools beyond Core checking. Pro includes documented expense-management features; Smart and Premium add accounting and invoicing functions. Receipt capture, transaction categorization, financial reports and tax tools should be evaluated against the particular plan, rather than inferred from the Core dashboard illustration.

Customer Invoicing and Bill Pay

Built-in invoicing and Bill Pay are documented for Smart and Premium, not Core or Pro. Bill Pay carries no separate service fee, but the selected payment method can still have a charge, including Express ACH.

The illustration below combines a customer invoice, an incoming payment and a bills list. It shows related but distinct workflows: collecting money from customers and paying business bills.

External Accounting Connections and Statements

Lili explicitly lists QuickBooks and Xero connections with Core. A separate integrations FAQ describes automatic daily transaction syncing without naming the plan. Confirm the exact sync functionality available on Core before relying on an automated bookkeeping workflow.

Statements and transaction exports are distinct from automatic syncing. Lili documents PDF statements and CSV/OFX transaction exports. Web and mobile statement access are available; an export workflow should not be described as automatic synchronization.

Lili Additional Products and Services

Paid Banking Plans
PlanPublished Monthly PriceDocumented Distinction
Core$0Base business checking
Pro$15Adds documented banking and expense-management features
Smart$35Adds accounting, invoicing and Bill Pay
Premium$55Adds the higher-tier package, including dedicated specialists and priority support

These are monthly prices, separate from introductory offers, annual billing and optional add-ons. Plan charges do not eliminate transaction fees.

FinanceProspector’s Take — Price the Workflow You Actually Need
If creating customer invoices or managing bills inside Lili is central to your workflow, compare the cost of Smart or Premium rather than budgeting only for Core’s $0 monthly fee. If you already use separate software, first check whether Core’s available connections or exports meet your needs before paying for overlapping tools.

Lili Savings Account

Core checking does not earn interest. The linked Lili Savings Account is available across plans, with separate terms and variable interest.

Lili’s legal savings table, effective January 13, 2026, lists 2.25% APY on the portion of balances up to $500,000, 4.00% APY on the portion from $500,000.01 through $1 million, and no yield on portions above $1 million. Current plan disclosures agree, while some help tables still show 2.50% or refer to paid-plan eligibility. This review uses the legal rate table and current plan disclosures. Rates are variable; confirm current access and terms. The higher tier does not apply to the entire balance, and an illustration’s earnings are not an expected return.

Lili Line of Credit

Lili presents access to business lines of credit and financing through lending partners. Lili is not the lender. Access from the platform does not mean that opening Core approves a credit limit or guarantees financing terms.

Lili Credit Building Program

BusinessBuild is a separately priced add-on. Saved disclosures exclude sole proprietorships and non-U.S. citizens. Enrollment is required for access to its BusinessBuild Card; the card is distinct from Core’s debit card.

Lili’s disclosures describe reporting BusinessBuild payments to Dun & Bradstreet and access to business-credit information. Reporting does not guarantee a score increase, credit approval or particular financing terms. The card arrangement involves CapitalOS and First Internet Bank of Indiana.

Using Lili’s Public Website

  • Compare Plans: separate Core banking from Pro, Smart and Premium features before estimating your ongoing cost.
  • Read the Agreement and Fee Schedule: use the plan description, limits and payment fees together.
  • Check Help Articles: review eligibility, transfer instructions and current in-app limits for the payment method you need.
  • Separate Products: evaluate Savings, financing and BusinessBuild on their own terms. Visit Lili Website

Lili Eligibility and Application Requirements

Lili supports eligible U.S.-formed businesses, including LLCs, corporations, partnerships and qualifying nonprofits. Its supported-business list also includes sole proprietors and sole proprietors with a DBA, while another opening guide lists only the DBA form. Confirm the documentation required for your particular sole-proprietor business.

Industry restrictions apply. Non-U.S. applicants have a separate eligibility route for qualifying U.S.-registered legal entities; sole proprietorships are excluded from that route. Do not assume an eligible checking application also establishes eligibility for international wires, BusinessBuild or lending.

Information and Documents to Prepare

Lili’s saved opening guide requests owner and business information and says additional documents may be requested according to entity type and ownership.

  • Owner Information: legal name, date of birth and applicable identity/tax information. The domestic application guidance also lists a U.S. mobile number with a major carrier and a residential address.
  • Business Information: legal name, entity type, ownership structure, business and operational addresses, applicable EIN or SSN, industry and estimated revenue.
  • LLC Documents, If Requested: EIN letter and Articles of Organization, Certificate of Formation or a similar state-filed document.
  • Corporation Documents, If Requested: EIN letter and Articles of Incorporation, Certificate of Incorporation or a similar state-filed document.
  • Partnership Documents, If Requested: EIN letter and signed partnership agreement outlining partners, roles and ownership percentages.

International applicants should follow Lili’s separate requirements rather than assuming the domestic SSN and residential-address instructions apply identically.

Application and Review

The saved opening guide describes creating a login, supplying personal information, supplying business details and submitting the application for review. Lili may request documents or clarification by email or in the app.

Application submission is not approval. Review can take longer where additional information is needed. Following approval, Lili describes sending confirmation and providing account details so the customer can fund the account and begin setup. No fixed approval deadline is promised here. Visit Lili

Lili Support Channels and Contact Options

  • Phone: (855) 545-4380; the support materials describe trained specialists.
  • Email: support@lili.co; the saved contact article describes follow-up within one to two business days.
  • In-App Chat: a signed-in messaging route is available. The public support page describes an AI assistant available around the clock; human chat availability is not established.
  • Hours: the main support page separates weekday phone hours from weekend email support, while another FAQ combines the channels more broadly. Confirm the current hours for your channel rather than assuming seven-day telephone access.
  • Premium Support: dedicated specialists and priority support are listed for Premium, not Core.

Lili Account Security and Controls

Lili documents card-freeze controls in the mobile and web apps and push notifications for account activity. Notification types can depend on the account or plan.

The saved pages describe additional authentication, but differ on authenticator-app versus text-message methods and when prompts apply. Follow the security requirements presented in your account rather than assuming a particular method is used on every login.

Review each additional user’s actual permissions. Access to account information, permission to initiate payments and access to a debit card are separate controls.

Lili Legal Disclosures and Deposit Protection

  • Lili is a financial technology company, not a bank.
  • Banking services and the Lili Visa Debit Card are provided by Sunrise Banks, N.A., Member FDIC.
  • Wire-transfer services use Column Bank, N.A., Member FDIC, and are subject to acceptance and risk review.
  • Lili advertises up to $3 million in deposit-insurance capacity through a bank sweep program, subject to program and FDIC requirements. Capacity is not an unconditional guarantee that every dollar is covered.
  • Deposits at the same bank in the same ownership category must be considered together. Program arrangements and other deposits can affect available coverage.
  • Deposit insurance protects eligible deposits against an insured bank’s failure; it does not insure Lili’s own failure or guarantee uninterrupted platform access.
  • Financing and BusinessBuild have separate providers, eligibility requirements, charges and agreements. Checking approval does not approve credit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Lili Core Have a Monthly Fee?

No. Core has a $0 monthly fee, no minimum opening deposit and no minimum balance. Express ACH, outgoing wires, mailed checks and certain ATM transactions can still carry charges.

Does Lili Core Include Accounting, Invoicing and Bill Pay?

Core does not include Lili’s paid built-in accounting and invoicing package. Built-in invoicing and Bill Pay are documented for Smart and Premium. Core’s external software connections are a separate question from Lili’s own accounting tools.

Can I Deposit Cash into Lili?

Yes, through participating retailers using the Lili debit card. Lili charges no cash-deposit fee, but the retailer can charge and set its own transaction limit. Check the app’s account limit and the retailer’s limit before depositing.

Does Lili Core Include BalanceUp?

No. The separate BalanceUp disclosure limits that discretionary service to eligible paid-plan customers. A $0 overdraft fee does not mean Core includes overdraft funding.

How Much Does a $1,000 Lili Express ACH Payment Cost?

The documented formula is 1.5%, with a $0.50 minimum and $20 maximum. On $1,000, the provider fee is $15. Eligibility, cutoff and settlement conditions are separate.

Can a Sole Proprietor Use Lili International Wires?

The documented international-wire service excludes sole proprietors and sole proprietors with a DBA. Checking eligibility does not establish eligibility for every payment method.

Can I Deposit Checks with Lili?

Eligible customers can submit check images through the mobile app. Eligibility, individual limits and funds-availability holds apply; depositing the image does not guarantee immediate access.

Does Lili Core Earn Interest?

Core checking does not earn interest. Current plan and legal disclosures list a separate Savings Account across plans, with variable APYs applied to portions of the balance. Some help pages still describe paid-plan availability, so confirm access before relying on it.

Does Lili Core Automatically Sync with QuickBooks or Xero?

Core is explicitly listed as including QuickBooks and Xero connections. Automatic daily syncing is described elsewhere without a plan designation, so confirm the exact Core workflow before relying on it.

What Documents Might Lili Request?

Depending on business structure, Lili’s opening guide lists EIN letters, LLC or corporation formation documents, or a signed partnership agreement. Owner and business information are also requested, and additional documents or clarification may be needed.
