Chase Business Bank Review

Chase Business Complete Banking Review (2026): Fees, Pros & Cons

Chase Business Complete Banking

Chase Business Complete Banking combines business checking, branch and ATM access, employee debit cards and digital payment tools. This review focuses on Business Complete, including its monthly-fee waivers, cash-deposit rules and payment charges. Other Chase accounts, optional paid services and relationship benefits are identified separately.

Chase Banking Quick Verdict

Who Is Business Complete Best For? Business Complete is worth considering for businesses that want branch banking alongside online payments, cash deposits, paper checks and controlled employee access. Its cash-deposit pricing makes the route you use important: Chase ATM cash deposits carry no charge, while other cash-deposit routes have a statement-period allowance.

Check Your Business Needs: The $15 ongoing monthly fee can be waived by meeting a qualifying condition. Separately enrolled ACH payments, wires, excess banker transactions and certain card transactions have their own prices. Confirm your required services and account limits before relying on them.

Average of 8 Feature Scores: 8.5/10

This average covers eight defined comparisons, not every account feature, fee or customer experience.

  • Domestic Transfer Costs — 7.9/10: the first standard ACH payment of the month, an online outgoing domestic wire and an incoming domestic wire from another bank.
  • Monthly and Overdraft Fees — 8.0/10: the ongoing monthly fee and standard overdraft item fee, with waiver conditions and exceptions disclosed separately.
  • Cash Deposit and ATM Access — 9.5/10: cash-deposit availability and withdrawals without a Chase fee at Chase ATMs; deposit charges and withdrawal limits are separate.
  • Payment Options — 9.5/10: international sending, included Bill Pay, provider-mailed checks and customer-written paper checks.
  • Team Access and Included Cards — 9.5/10: permissioned online users and employee Associate spending cards.
  • Outgoing USD International Wire Fee — 8.1/10: the standard $40 online provider fee, excluding relationship waivers and third-party charges.
  • Expedited ACH Fee — 8.3/10: the $10 provider fee for a $1,000 same-day ACH payment through optional ACH Payment Services, subject to enrollment, eligibility, limits and processing requirements.
  • Foreign-Currency Card-Purchase Fee — 7.5/10: the provider’s 3% adjustment on a $1,000 foreign-currency debit-card purchase, separate from exchange rates and third-party charges.

Chase Business Complete Banking: Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Branch access with digital convenience: Businesses can handle routine banking online while retaining access to branch assistance for more complex needs, reducing reliance on either digital support or in-person visits alone.
  • Chase ATM cash deposits without deposit fees: Cash-taking businesses can deposit through Chase ATMs without using the separate $5,000 non-ATM cash-deposit allowance, leaving that allowance available for deposits requiring other supported methods.
  • Integrated payment acceptance: Eligible businesses can accept customer payments through Chase QuickAccept alongside their checking account, simplifying payment oversight. Processing charges still apply, so convenience should be weighed against total acceptance costs.
  • Multiple monthly fee-waiver routes: Businesses may qualify through eligible balances, payment activity, card spending or qualifying relationships, providing alternatives to maintaining a cash balance solely to avoid the monthly fee.
  • Employee access with spending controls: Employee cards and account controls can support delegated purchases and deposits, helping owners distribute routine banking tasks while setting permissions appropriate to each employee’s responsibilities.

Cons

  • An ongoing cost when waivers are missed: Paying the $15 monthly service fee for 12 months costs $180. Businesses that cannot consistently qualify for a waiver should include that recurring expense in their banking budget.
  • Foreign card spending can become expensive: The 3% foreign exchange rate adjustment adds $600 to $20,000 in foreign-currency debit-card purchases after conversion to U.S. dollars. Qualifying Chase Military Banking Enhanced Benefits waive this adjustment.
  • Chargeable overdrafts are costly: One $34 overdraft fee exceeds two $15 monthly service fees. Overdraft Assist can prevent charges in qualifying circumstances, but businesses must monitor balances and meet its replenishment deadlines.
  • Teller-heavy activity can outgrow the allowances: The account includes 20 qualifying banker transactions and checks written per month, plus a $5,000 cash-deposit allowance for specified non-ATM routes, including night deposits. Businesses exceeding these allowances face additional charges.
  • QuickAccept Processing Has Separate Charges: QuickAccept lists 2.6% plus $0.10 for tap, dip and swipe payments, and 3.5% plus $0.10 for invoices, payment links and manually entered transactions. A checking-fee waiver does not remove these processing costs, so businesses should compare their actual payment mix.

FinanceProspector Feature Scores

These scores assess the specific inputs listed below. They do not measure every service, the size of Chase’s network or the likelihood of account approval. The average combines only the eight scored dimensions; invoicing and accounting connections are not ranked because the required named accounting-sync evidence is incomplete. Read FinanceProspector Editorial Methodology.

ACH scores reflect a documented conditional service. Enrollment, account eligibility, available limits and payment review apply; the scores do not promise access for every customer. Relationship waivers and third-party charges are not used in these standard-fee comparisons. Averages covering different feature sets should not be treated as identical measures.

Avoiding the Monthly Fee

One published route is maintaining the required $2,000 minimum daily ending balance. This is a daily-balance condition, not an average monthly balance.

Other waiver routes involve qualifying Chase payment-processing deposits, qualifying business-card activity, specified linked personal accounts or Chase Military Banking eligibility. Each has its own conditions. Chase’s product page and fee schedule describe the eligible credit-card route differently, so confirm the applicable card and qualifying spending before relying on that route.

The schedule also provides a courtesy waiver or refund of the first two monthly service fees for new accounts and accounts converted to this product. That introductory treatment does not remove the ongoing fee.

FinanceProspector’s Take — Choose a Waiver You Can Maintain
A waiver is most useful when it matches activity your business already has. If you choose the balance route, plan for daily cash outflows rather than checking only the month-end total. If you choose payment-processing or card activity, confirm which transactions qualify before counting them toward the requirement.

Understanding the 20-Item Allowance

The 20-item allowance applies to deposits and withdrawals made with a banker and paper checks written on the account. Chase lists electronic deposits and deposited items, ACH and ATM transactions, QuickDeposit, debit-card purchases and internal transfers without a transaction-count charge.

That does not make every electronic service free. ACH Payment Services, wires and other separately priced services retain their own charges.

FinanceProspector’s Take — Count Activity by Route
A business with frequent electronic activity may use fewer of the 20 chargeable items than its total transaction count suggests. Count banker activity and written checks separately, then add any service-specific charges. This gives a more useful estimate than treating the allowance as a limit of 20 account transactions.

Chase Illustrative Payment-Cost Examples

These examples use standard published provider charges. They exclude the monthly account fee, relationship waivers, exchange-rate costs and third-party charges. They are illustrations, not quotes for a particular customer.

Chase Illustrative Payment-Cost Examples
Chase Payment or Deposit ExampleCalculationIllustrative Provider Charge
12 Standard ACH Payments in One Month10 × $2.50 + 2 × $0.15$25.30
One $1,000 Same-Day ACH PaymentLower of 1% × $1,000 and $25$10.00
One Outgoing Domestic Online WireOne standard online wire$25.00
One Outgoing International USD Online WireOne standard online wire$40.00
$8,000 Cash Deposited Through the Specified Non-ATM Routes in One Statement Period($8,000 − $5,000) × 0.30%$9.00
30 Chargeable Banker Transactions and Written Checks in One Month(30 − 20) × $0.50$5.00
One $1,000 Foreign-Currency Debit-Card Purchase$1,000 × 3%$30.00

ACH examples assume enrollment and eligibility for ACH Payment Services. A wire’s delivery currency and route affect its price. Cash deposited at a Chase ATM follows a different cash-deposit fee rule from the non-ATM example.

Chase Funding, Transfers and Access to Money

Cash and Check Deposits

Cash can be deposited at Chase ATMs, with a banker and through the specified night-deposit and verification services. Chase ATM cash deposits carry no cash-deposit charge. The other specified routes share a $5,000 statement-period allowance, with 0.30% charged on the excess.

Mobile check deposit is available through Chase QuickDeposit. Business mobile-deposit limits are displayed within the service; confirm your available limit before submitting a deposit. Checks can also be deposited through Chase ATMs and branches. Scanner-based QuickDeposit is a separate paid service.

FinanceProspector’s Take — Choose the Cash Route Before Estimating Fees
The same cash volume can produce different deposit charges depending on where you deposit it. For example, $8,000 through the specified non-ATM routes produces a $9 cash-deposit fee, while Chase ATM cash deposits have no cash-deposit charge. Check machine access and deposit requirements as well as the fee rule; fee-free pricing is not a promise that any amount can be deposited in one visit.

Standard and Same-Day ACH

ACH Payment Services is optional and activated through Chase Business Online. Chase may request additional information before enrollment. Eligible accounts and payments remain subject to limits and review.

Standard ACH costs $2.50 for each of the first 10 payments per month and $0.15 for subsequent payments. Same-day ACH costs 1%, capped at $25 per payment. Chase documents end-of-day arrival for same-day ACH authorized before its 2 p.m. Eastern business-day cutoff, subject to processing requirements. The published single-payment ceiling is $100,000, but lower customer limits can apply.

Standard ACH per-payment and daily limits are not supplied here because the reviewed public evidence does not establish a universal amount. Check the limits available to your account after sign-in.

FinanceProspector’s Take — Separate the Transaction Allowance from ACH Pricing
An ACH entry can be excluded from the 20-item transaction allowance and still carry an ACH Payment Services fee. Budget for the service you intend to use rather than assuming that no transaction-count charge means no payment charge. Bill Pay, ACH and Zelle are different services and should not be treated as interchangeable delivery methods.

Domestic and International Wires

Wires are available through Chase’s online services, mobile app and bankers. Online wire access must be activated, and payments remain subject to limits and internal review. Chase publishes a 6 p.m. Eastern business-day cutoff for starting same-day processing; that is not a promise of same-day arrival.

Domestic sending costs $25 online or $35 with a banker. International USD sending costs $40 online or $50 with a banker. Online foreign-currency wires have a $5 transfer fee, waived when the amount equals $5,000 USD or more. Chase’s foreign-exchange rate includes a spread.

FinanceProspector’s Take — Compare the Amount Received, Not Just the Wire Fee
A foreign-currency wire’s lower transfer fee does not show its full conversion cost. Compare the exchange rate, transfer charge and recipient’s expected proceeds before choosing USD or foreign-currency delivery. The $40 USD-wire score measures one specified provider fee; it does not determine which currency route is cheaper for your payment.

Withdrawals and Funds Availability

For the ordinary Chase Business Debit Card, the published daily ATM limits are $3,000 at Chase in-branch ATMs, $1,000 at other Chase ATMs and $500 at non-Chase ATMs. The non-Chase limit is $1,000 for accounts opened in Connecticut, New Jersey, New York or Texas. Different card types have different limits; changes can be requested subject to approval.

Cash, electronic direct deposits and incoming wires are generally available on the day received under the deposit agreement. Check availability depends on the deposit route, cutoff, account history and any hold. QuickDeposit has its own terms. Review the availability notice for a deposit before scheduling payments against it.

Chase Sub-Accounts and Cash Organization

The reviewed Business Complete materials do not establish an included sub-account or envelope feature. A separately linked savings account is not the same as creating budgeting pockets within this checking account.

If allocating tax reserves, payroll or operating cash across separate balances is important, confirm the account structure and fees before opening additional accounts.

Chase Team Access and Cards

Access & Security Manager supports up to 99 online users with varying access levels. Owners can control account access, transaction permissions, dollar limits and approval requirements. Online permissions are separate from physical card permissions.

The employee-card types serve different purposes:

  • Business Associate Card: an employee spending card with a $0 annual fee. It can make purchases, withdrawals and deposits. Signer-set limits range from $100 to $1,000 for withdrawals and $100 to $5,000 for spending, in $100 increments.
  • Business Employee Deposit Card: a $0-annual-fee card for deposits. It does not provide purchasing, withdrawal or account-information access.
  • Owner and Signer Cards: separate cards governed by their own eligibility and limits; these are not the employee-card benefit used in the team score.

Chase’s employee definition includes qualifying contractors for whom the business files 1099 reporting. Cards cannot be shared and must be closed when the employee or qualifying contractor relationship ends.

FinanceProspector’s Take — Match Card Access to the Job
A person who only deposits cash does not need a spending card. A person who buys supplies may need an Associate Card with an appropriate limit. Set online permissions separately and review linked-account access: linking more accounts to an Associate Card can expand the employee’s ability to transfer funds between those accounts.

Chase Accounting, Invoicing and Bill Pay

Bill Pay and Paper Checks

Online Bill Pay is included. Chase delivers payments electronically or by paper check depending on the payee. Bill Pay is distinct from the separately enrolled ACH Payment Services product.

The account also supports checks written by the business. Check-order prices vary; a free first checkbook is not established for Business Complete. Customer-written checks count toward the 20-item monthly allowance with banker transactions.

Invoicing and Card Acceptance

Chase documents creating and sending invoices through its online or mobile services, but invoicing is not currently available to all merchants. QuickAccept card acceptance is also subject to eligibility and review.

QuickAccept processing prices include 2.6% plus $0.10 for the specified tap, dip and swipe transactions; 3.5% plus $0.10 for manual-entry and payment-link transactions; and 2.9% plus $0.25 for the specified e-commerce transactions. Hardware, other payment products and additional services can have separate costs. Confirm the route and price applicable to your setup.

Accounting Connections and Statements

Chase describes connecting accounts to accounting-related applications, but the reviewed evidence does not establish automatic transaction syncing to a named accounting package for this plan. That is why the invoicing and accounting comparison has no score; it is not assigned zero.

Statements are available through Chase’s digital platforms. Business mobile banking also includes managing alerts and paperless statements. Confirm your chosen accounting connection and required statement or export workflow before relying on it.

Chase Additional Products and Services

Chase offers separate business savings, credit cards, lines of credit, term loans, SBA loans and commercial real estate financing. Opening this checking account does not itself approve any credit product.

Optional services include scanner-based QuickDeposit, ACH Collections and Chase Payroll powered by Gusto. These should not be treated as included bookkeeping or payroll benefits. Scanner-based QuickDeposit has monthly fees and contract terms separate from mobile deposit.

Check Monitoring is documented for Business Complete. ACH Debit Block and Check Protection Services, also called positive pay, have restrictions that apply to other Chase accounts; do not assume they are included here because a general fee table lists them at $0.

The fee schedule provides a monthly-service-fee waiver on one linked Chase Business Total Savings account. Savings-account terms remain separate, and this does not make Business Complete interest-bearing.

Using Chase’s Public Website

The Business Complete product page explains the account’s main features and waiver options. The business fee schedule supplies detailed pricing, while the Deposit Account Agreement and Digital Services Agreement explain account and digital-service terms.

Use the business contact and account-opening pages for service routes and entity-specific document requirements. Check the account name and delivery method when reading a general Chase page: information about another checking plan, personal banking or a separate cash-management product may not apply here. Chase Eligibility and Application Requirements

Who Can Apply Online?

Chase documents online opening for specified privately held structures: sole proprietorships with one owner, single-member or single-manager LLCs with one authorizing representative, and privately held S- or C-corporations with one authorizing representative.

Other structures—including partnerships and specified businesses with multiple owners, managers or authorizing representatives—need a branch. Confirm the route for your exact ownership and management structure.

Information and Documents to Prepare

Chase’s entity-specific guidance calls for personal identification, applicable tax identification and documents establishing the business. For a branch application, its guidance generally calls for two forms of identification, including a primary or government-issued ID. Acceptable identification differs for non-U.S. citizens.

Business documentation depends on the entity and state. Examples include formation documents for an LLC, partnership documentation, or documents establishing a sole proprietorship and any assumed name. Additional documents may be needed to establish current members or managers, active status or authority to operate in another state.

Be ready to provide ownership and business-operation information, including expected transaction activity. Chase’s checking guidance asks for information about owners with 10% or more ownership in the relevant entity-specific sections; do not substitute a universal 25% threshold from another product’s checklist.

Application and Funding

Accounts are subject to approval. Chase states that no minimum deposit is required to open and tells new-to-Chase customers to add funds within 60 days. The reviewed evidence does not establish a universal approval time or what happens to every account that remains unfunded at that point.

Non-U.S.-citizen identification options do not establish eligibility for every nonresident or foreign-owned business. Confirm your particular circumstances with Chase rather than treating citizenship and residency as interchangeable requirements. Visit Chase

Chase Support Channels and Contact Options

Chase lists 1-800-242-7338 for business customer service and 1-877-242-7372 for online or mobile banking technical support. Customers can also use the signed-in Secure Message Center and branch appointments.

The reviewed evidence does not establish staffed checking-support hours or live human chat. A platform or message facility being available around the clock is not the same as customer-service staff being available at all times. Use the current business contact page for the appropriate route.

Chase Account Security and Controls

Documented controls include additional sign-in verification, account alerts and permissioned online access. Chase offers options for extra verification at sign-in and may require additional authentication for particular activity.

For the ordinary business debit card, the business-applicable agreement supports card-lock controls alongside Chase’s published lock and unlock guidance. A card lock does not necessarily stop every recurring or previously authorized transaction. Do not assume the same controls apply identically to deposit-only or Associate Cards.

Configure alerts, review access regularly and close employee cards when the relevant working relationship ends. These controls support account management; they do not guarantee that fraud or unauthorized activity cannot occur.

Chase Legal Disclosures and Deposit Protection

  • Business Complete is a bank deposit account provided by JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., Member FDIC; it is not a fintech account held through an unnamed partner bank.
  • Deposit-insurance eligibility and limits depend on applicable rules and ownership category. Consider other deposits held at the same bank when assessing coverage.
  • The account does not earn interest. Separate savings, credit and payment-processing products have their own terms.
  • Payment enrollment, eligibility, limits and review can affect access and timing. A published fee is not a promise that a payment will be approved.
  • Exchange-rate spreads, intermediary charges and recipient charges can affect international payment costs beyond the fee used in a feature score.

Overdraft Assist and Other Exceptions

The standard overdraft fee is $34 per item during nightly processing, with a maximum of six fees per business day. Chase Overdraft Assist and other exceptions can prevent a charge in specified circumstances, including no fee when the end-of-business-day balance is overdrawn by $50 or less. If it is overdrawn by more than $50, Business Complete customers have until 11 p.m. ET (8 p.m. PT) on the next business day to deposit or transfer enough available funds to bring the end-of-day balance to overdrawn by $50 or less. Pending transactions and deposit holds affect the balance used during nightly processing.

Confirm deposit cutoffs, funds availability and the exact exception conditions before relying on them. An exception to an overdraft charge does not promise that a payment will be made, and an available balance can differ from a ledger balance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Chase Business Complete Have a Monthly Fee?

Yes. The ongoing monthly service fee is $15 unless a qualifying waiver applies. New accounts and accounts converted to this product receive a courtesy waiver or refund of the first two monthly service fees under the schedule’s terms.

How Can I Avoid the Monthly Fee?

One route is maintaining the required $2,000 minimum daily ending balance. Other routes involve qualifying payment-processing deposits, eligible business-card activity, specified linked personal accounts or military-banking eligibility. Each has separate conditions; confirm the route you intend to use.

Does the Account Allow Only 20 Transactions?

No. The allowance applies to banker deposits, banker withdrawals and checks written on the account. Listed electronic activity has no transaction-count charge, but separately priced services such as ACH Payment Services and wires can still carry fees.

What Does It Cost to Deposit Cash?

Chase ATM cash deposits have no cash-deposit charge. Through the specified non-ATM cash-deposit routes, the first $5,000 per statement period has no cash-deposit charge and the excess costs 0.30%. Deposit requirements and machine or account limits still apply.

Does Business Complete Earn Interest?

No. Chase’s fee schedule states that this checking account does not earn interest. A separately linked savings account has its own terms.

Are Standard and Same-Day ACH Included for Free?

No. They are offered through optional ACH Payment Services, subject to enrollment and eligibility. Standard ACH costs $2.50 for each of the first 10 payments per month, then $0.15 each. Same-day ACH costs 1% of the payment, capped at $25, so a $1,000 payment has a $10 provider fee.

Are International Wires Free When Sent in Foreign Currency?

An online foreign-currency wire has a $5 provider transfer fee, waived when the amount equals $5,000 USD or more. Chase’s exchange rate includes a spread, and other charges may apply. That differs from an online international USD wire, whose standard provider fee is $40.

Can Employees Have Their Own Cards and Online Access?

Yes. Associate Cards provide employee spending access, while Employee Deposit Cards are deposit-only. Both have a $0 annual fee. Online users have separate permissions through Access & Security Manager; card access and online access are different controls.

Does Chase Offer Invoicing and Accounting Connections?

Chase documents invoicing, but it is not available to all merchants. The reviewed evidence does not establish automatic syncing to a named accounting package for Business Complete, so the invoicing and accounting feature comparison is unranked rather than assigned zero.

Can I Open the Account Online Without an Initial Deposit?

Chase states that no minimum opening deposit is required. Online applications are limited to specified business structures; others need a branch. Chase tells new-to-Chase customers to add funds within 60 days, and all accounts remain subject to approval.
