Found Business Bank Review
Found Business Banking Review (2026): Fees, Pros & Cons
Found Free Base Plan
Found brings business banking, bookkeeping, invoicing and tax estimates into one account. This review examines the free plan and identifies where paid subscriptions or transaction fees apply.
Found Banking Quick Verdict
Who Is Found Free Base Best For? Found is worth considering if you want to organize business income, track expenses, invoice customers and manage contractor payments in the same place. The free plan includes Pockets, bookkeeping reports and tax estimates, with no monthly subscription charge.
Check Your Business Needs: Choose based on the workflows you need: check deposits depend on eligibility, additional physical cards cost $5, and in-app quarterly federal tax payments require Plus or Pro. The free account does not earn interest. Review the transfer fees below if faster access to money is part of your routine.
This average covers domestic transfer costs, account fees, team access and the Express transfer fee.
- Domestic Transfer Costs — : Standard outbound ACH, outgoing domestic wires and incoming domestic wires.
- Monthly and Overdraft Fees — : The base monthly fee and overdraft fee; transaction and dormancy fees are separate.
- Team Access and Cards — : User roles and documented team-card availability, including the additional physical-card fee.
- Expedited ACH Fee — : The fee for a $1,000 Express transfer to a linked bank account.
Found Free Business Banking: Pros and Cons
Pros
- No Monthly Maintenance Fee: Found’s free plan has no monthly maintenance fee or minimum balance requirement, helping owners keep business finances separate even when revenue is inconsistent. Transaction charges and dormancy fees can still apply.
- Integrated Bookkeeping and Expense Tracking: Automatic expense categorization, receipt scanning and financial reports provide a starting bookkeeping workflow without a separate software subscription. These tools can help owners establish recordkeeping habits and organize everyday business activity.
- Automated Tax Estimates and Savings Pockets: Eligible Schedule C filers can view real-time tax estimates and automatically set money aside for taxes. This helps owners consider tax obligations before treating incoming payments as available spending money.
- Invoicing and Contractor Management Tools: Unlimited invoicing, W-9 collection and free 1099-NEC e-filing support businesses that both bill customers and hire contractors. Filing remains subject to Found’s submission window and accurate payment records.
- Up to 20 Pockets With Separate Account Numbers: Owners can organize money for taxes, projects and operating expenses into separate balances. This makes it easier to distinguish funds allocated to specific commitments from money available for general spending.
Cons
- Free Balances Do Not Earn Bank Interest: Found’s base deposit account is non-interest-bearing. Separate card-spend promotions and paid-plan APY benefits have their own eligibility rules, so businesses should confirm the applicable offer and conditions before estimating a return on operating reserves.
- Advanced Bookkeeping Features Require an Upgrade: Connected Accounts syncing requires Plus or Pro after the available trial, while CSV imports remain free. The free plan also limits custom rules, tags and categories, which may matter when organizing activity across several financial accounts.
- Cash Deposits Have Fees and Limits: Cash deposits use participating retailers rather than ATMs and are subject to transaction limits. Found’s published resources differ on whether one monthly deposit is free, so businesses should confirm the applicable fee before relying on cash deposits regularly.
- Check Deposits Have Eligibility Requirements and Processing Delays: Mobile check deposits are available to eligible users, but funds may take several business days to become available. Additional review can extend the timeline, making the expected availability date important when planning payments.
- Tax Features Vary by Business Structure and Plan: Real-time tax estimates are limited to Schedule C filers, while in-app quarterly federal tax payments require an eligible paid subscription. Corporations and partnerships should assess which tools support their specific filing needs.

FinanceProspector Feature Scores
Each score covers a defined feature comparison rather than the entire account. The display scale runs from 7.5 to 9.5, and figures are shown out of 10. These comparisons do not assess every fee, product feature or customer experience. Read FinanceProspector Editorial Methodology.
| Feature Comparison | Score | What It Measures |
|---|---|---|

| Expedited ACH Fee | 8.3/10 | Express transfer to a linked bank: 1% of $1,000 is $10. Express is separate from Instant and from expedited vendor payments. |
Found Fees and Transaction Charges
The base subscription is free. The charges below depend on how you move money, issue cards or accept customer payments.
| Service | Base Plan Charge | Material Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Linked-Bank Transfer | $0 | Found lists one to two business days. |
| Cash Deposit | $2 per deposit in the fee schedule | The cash-deposit help page describes one free deposit each month, then $2 per deposit. Confirm the applicable charge in the app. |

| Instant Transfer | 1.75%; $0.50 minimum, $50 maximum | Receiving bank must support Instant; final once sent. Receiving an Instant Payment is free. |

| Virtual Card | $0 | Account and card limits still apply. |
| ATM Withdrawal | Fee schedule states no Found fee | ATM operator charges may apply. |
| Dormancy | $10 | Fee schedule lists twelve consecutive dormant months; account terms define dormancy by no deposits, withdrawals or account communication. |

Free Versus Found Plus and Pro
| Plan | Subscription | Selected Differences |
|---|---|---|
| Found Free | $0 per month | Base banking, invoicing, bookkeeping and tax-estimate tools; no account interest. |
| Found Plus | $35 per month or $315 per year | 1.50% variable APY on balances up to $20,000; priority phone support and eligible in-app quarterly federal tax payments. |
| Found Pro | $80 per month or $720 per year | 2.50% variable APY on all balances; dedicated account manager; $10 domestic wires and free mailed checks. |
Found offers one 30-day Plus or Pro trial per user, followed by automatic billing for the selected subscription. Pro also lists 1% cashback on qualifying purchases under its cashback terms. Its metal card is limited to one per account after the trial and successful paid billing. These are paid-plan benefits.
Found’s account terms describe a non-interest-bearing deposit account. Its Card Spend Bonus Terms separately describe a promotional 2.00% APY-based bonus on average daily balances up to $20,000 for qualifying customers who opened an account on or after November 1, 2025 and make at least $5,000 in qualifying monthly card purchases. Found, rather than Lead Bank, owes this bonus. The promotion can change or end; confirm current availability and eligibility before relying on it. It is separate from the Plus and Pro balance-bonus benefits above.
Found Funding, Transfers and Access to Money
Up to three external bank accounts can be linked through Plaid. The account terms require linked accounts to be in the account holder’s name. Payments between Found accounts are instant and free when both parties use Found.
- Incoming Funds: Found’s limits page lists no amount limit for direct deposits, ACH bank transfers, wires or transfers from payment apps. Deposits can be held for review.
- Outgoing Funds: the limits page lists no amount limit for linked-bank transfers, payments and outgoing wires, but additional verification can be required. The agreement also reserves review for high-value wires.
- Payment Apps: Found account and routing numbers can be linked from services including Stripe, Square, PayPal, Venmo and Cash App. Those services may charge for their own instant transfers.
- Cash Deposits: Use a barcode generated in the app at participating retailers; ATM cash deposits are not supported. The help page lists a $5 minimum, up to $2,000 per rolling seven days and $4,000 per rolling 30 days; retailer limits can be lower.
- Bill Pay: available on every plan, with ACH, check, wire and Found-to-Found routes. Standard transfer fees can apply to the selected payment method.
- Zelle: Found states that it does not work with Zelle.
Mobile Check Deposits
Eligible users can deposit checks through the mobile app. Found’s account terms identify account balance, how long the account has been open and in good standing, and card spending as eligibility factors. The cited account terms and help page do not specify numeric qualifying thresholds. Check the requirements shown inside your account and complete any requested verification before planning a deposit. Found can change eligibility criteria or withdraw access.
The documented limit is $3,000 per week. Found’s help page says funds are typically available after four business days; its account terms say ordinarily within five business days after the deposit day. Some established accounts may qualify for up to $30,000 per week after additional verification. Review can extend availability. Found does not accept checks by mail or at an ATM.
Cards, ATM Withdrawals and Mailed Checks
The limits page lists $5,000 per day for new-account card purchases and transfers to payment apps, and $550 per day for ATM withdrawals. Confirm the limits shown in your account before a larger transaction or withdrawal.
Found does not issue a checkbook. It can print and mail a check by USPS First-Class Mail, typically taking five to ten business days without tracking. Home-printed and third-party checks are not compatible with this route.
Pockets and Account Organization
An account can hold up to 20 Pockets, each with its own account number. Primary and Taxes are created from the start. You can use additional Pockets to separate operating funds, supplies or another business purpose, and tie a card to a specific Pocket.
Found Team Access and Cards
Every Found account includes a Mastercard business debit card issued by Lead Bank for business use. An account can have up to 10 physical cards and 20 virtual cards; open invitations count toward the physical-card limit. Found does not offer a credit card.
- Admin: can move money and manage users, with owner-only restrictions such as removing the owner and completing certain verifications.
- Cardholder: can spend through their own card with restricted account access.
- Accountant: can view and edit bookkeeping activity and reports, but cannot move money or spend from the account.
FinanceProspector’s Take — Match Account Access to the Work
If someone only needs to categorize expenses and prepare reports, consider Accountant access before granting Admin access. Found’s Accountant role cannot move money or spend, while Admin access includes money movement. Choose the role around the person’s actual responsibilities; card spending limits are a separate control.
Cards can have daily, weekly, monthly or all-time spending limits and can be tied to a Pocket. Card controls sit beneath the account’s overall limits. Invited cardholders must verify their identity; invitations expire after two weeks. Virtual cards can be added to Apple Wallet and Google Pay.
Bookkeeping and Accountant Access
Built-in bookkeeping includes automatic expense categorization, receipt scanning, profit-and-loss reports and a balance sheet. The free plan allows one custom expense rule, one custom tag and one custom category; unlimited customization requires Plus or Pro.
All customers can import transactions using a CSV file at no charge. Connected Accounts imports require Plus or Pro after a trial that Found says is typically available for 60 days, with up to ten accounts connected through Plaid. The documented QuickBooks route uses a file export and upload.
FinanceProspector’s Take — Plan How Your Records Will Reach Found
Before moving your bookkeeping to Found, decide how transactions from your other accounts will get there. CSV imports are free, while Connected Accounts imports require Plus or Pro after the trial. Compare the subscription cost with the work involved in preparing and importing files, especially if your business uses several accounts.
Accountant access supports reviewing and editing activity, categorizing expenses and downloading reports without moving money. The account holder remains responsible for the accountant’s use of the account.
Tax Estimates and Tools
The free plan includes tax estimates and a Taxes Pocket. Found describes its automatic tax-saving estimate for sole proprietors. This can help separate money for taxes while tracking business income and expenses.
In-app quarterly federal tax payments require Plus or Pro and a Schedule C filer. An estimate shown in the interface does not mean that tax-payment access is included in the free plan. Found states that its website information is not tax, legal or accounting advice.
Invoicing and Customer Payments
Unlimited invoices, scheduled and recurring invoices, estimates and templates are listed on every plan. A single invoice can be up to $999,999.99. Customers can pay by bank transfer or domestic wire without a Found fee; the help center lists bank-transfer timing of one to two business days unless the payer also uses Found.
Card, direct-debit and Cash App Pay payments require a Stripe account and carry processing fees. Found’s fee schedule lists card invoice payments at 2.9% plus $0.30, direct debit at $1.50 per link plus 0.8% per transfer, and Cash App Pay at 3.1% plus $0.30. The $1.50 direct-debit linking charge applies even if no transfer follows.
Found Additional Products and Services
Contractor payments, W-9 collection and 1099-NEC filing are listed as included on every plan, without a per-contractor fee. The transfer method you choose can still carry its normal payment fee.
Found refers customers to Gusto for W-2 payroll, a separate service with its own pricing. Found also lets customers compare partner offers, but states that it is not a lender, filing service or insurance provider.
A separate merchant rewards program offers cashback to enrolled accounts in good standing. Offers vary and have their own terms; this is distinct from Pro’s qualifying 1% cashback benefit.

Using Found’s Public Website
Found’s public pages separate banking, team cards, taxes, invoicing, contractor management and accountant access. The six product-tour images in this review show example interface screens, not transactions performed during our research.

Found Eligibility and Application Requirements
The agreement lists U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents aged 18 or older as eligible. The account-opening help page requires a U.S. residential address and an SSN for identity verification.
Supported business types include sole proprietors, LLCs, corporations and partnerships, including businesses taxed as S corporations. Nonprofits can use banking, invoicing and payments, while the suitability of tax and bookkeeping tools varies. Up to four beneficial owners can be added besides the primary account holder.
Check Found’s prohibited-business list before applying; restrictions include money services businesses, firearms, tobacco, cannabis and gambling, as well as foreign-owned or non-U.S.-based businesses.
Documents to Prepare
LLCs, corporations and partnerships need an EIN, legal business name and physical business address, and must be registered and in good standing where they operate. Foreign qualification can be required. Found’s verification guide lists a sole proprietor’s legal name, U.S. residential address, date of birth and Social Security number for verification. P.O. boxes, virtual mailboxes and mail-forwarding addresses are not accepted.
Application and Review
Found says signing up is free, often takes minutes and involves no credit check. Found may request additional verification documents. One login can manage up to five active businesses. Visit Found

Found Account Security and Controls
Found documents one-time passwords for sensitive actions, protection for sign-ins on new devices and biometric app unlocking on supported devices. You can freeze a card in the app and receive real-time purchase alerts.
Account holders can require approval before a vendor debits the account by bank transfer. The default setting approves withdrawals automatically, so review this setting when deciding how to manage vendor access.
Found says its databases are encrypted at rest with AES-256 and its security program follows SOC 2 criteria with annual third-party assessment. These are Found’s published descriptions.
Found Legal Disclosures and Deposit Protection
- Found is a financial technology company, not a bank. Banking services are provided by Lead Bank, Member FDIC.
- Found states that funds are FDIC-insured up to $250,000 per depositor for each account ownership category. FDIC insurance covers only the failure of an FDIC-insured bank.
- The account is a subaccount of an omnibus account at Lead Bank. The terms allow placement through IntraFi under a separate sweeps disclosure; this review does not assert a higher insurance limit.
- The Mastercard business debit card is issued by Lead Bank. The agreement requires business use and states that consumer-law liability protections for unauthorized card use do not apply.
- Report suspected unauthorized electronic transfers promptly. The agreement includes a 60-day period measured from when the statement showing the transfer is sent or made available.
- Found’s website information is not tax, legal or accounting advice. Partner services and Stripe payments have separate terms and applicable charges.
Compare Found with Other Business Banking Accounts
Compare the account using the functions your business needs, rather than treating separately scoped feature scores as an overall ranking.

Compare the payment route as well as its price. Found’s Express product moves funds to a linked bank account; the competitors below describe same-day or Express ACH payment services. A matching fee does not establish matching recipients, eligibility or delivery speed.
| Provider and Plan | Standard ACH | Outgoing Domestic Wire | Faster ACH Route |
|---|---|---|---|
| Found Free | $0 standard linked-bank transfer | $15 | Express to linked bank: 1%; $0.50 minimum, $25 maximum |
| Bluevine Standard | $0 | $15 | Same-day ACH: $10 per transfer |
| Mercury Base | $0 from dashboard | $0 | Same-day ACH: $0 |

Bluevine Standard and Mercury
Bluevine Standard and Found Free each document a $15 outgoing domestic-wire fee and no provider fee for standard ACH. Mercury’s base pricing includes domestic wires and same-day ACH at no charge. Confirm that the route, recipients and account limits fit your workflow before comparing the prices alone.
Slash Free and Novo
Slash Free lists $6 domestic wires and $1 same-day ACH for eligible transfers. For a $1,000 transfer, Novo’s 1.5% Express ACH fee is $15 and Found’s linked-bank Express fee is $10. These are fee calculations for different documented routes, not a promise that either account can make the same payment.
No provider ranking is implied.
