Slash Business Bank Review

Slash Business Banking Review (2026): Fees, Pros & Cons

Slash Free Plan

This Slash business banking review examines the Free plan’s fees, payment routes, team tools and account controls, plus separately offered services.

Slash Banking Quick Verdict

Who Is Slash Free Plan Best For? Slash Free Plan is worth considering for eligible digital-first businesses that need to delegate purchasing and connect transaction records to accounting software. Evaluate it against how your business receives money, pays suppliers and funds card spending.

Check Your Business Needs: Confirm that your business is eligible and that its payment habits fit Slash Free Plan. The charge-card balance is due in full daily, cash deposits and outgoing paper checks are not supported, and mobile check deposit is a request-only beta. Check that you can fund daily card repayment and receive customer payments through the available routes before choosing the account.

Average of 3 Feature Scores: 9.0/10

  • Team Access and Included Cards — 9.5/10: User roles, custom permissions and cards included with the account.
  • Outgoing USD International Wire Fee — 8.7/10: The $25 provider fee per wire, excluding intermediary-bank charges.
  • Expedited ACH Fee — 8.9/10: The $1 fee for an eligible $1,000 same-day ACH payment.

Slash Free Business Banking: Pros and Cons

Pros

  • No Monthly Subscription or Minimum Balance Requirement: Slash’s Free plan has no monthly subscription fee or minimum balance requirement, helping businesses maintain separate finances without recurring account costs. Payment fees, physical-card charges and certain other services still apply.
  • Unlimited Virtual Cards and Custom Spending Controls: The Free plan includes unlimited virtual cards, configurable spending limits and card-management controls. Businesses can assign cards to employees, vendors or specific expenses, helping separate purchasing activity and monitor spending without paying for each virtual card.
  • Custom Team Permissions and Accounting Integrations: Owner, Admin, Employee, Accountant and custom roles support delegated financial tasks. Connections to QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite and other accounting platforms can reduce manual transaction entry, although external software subscriptions remain separate.
  • Domestic and International Payment Options: Slash supports domestic ACH and wires, eligible same-day ACH, real-time payment networks and international wires. Businesses paying suppliers through multiple routes can manage those payments within one platform, although transaction fees, processing limits and recipient-bank requirements apply.
  • Cash Back on Qualifying Corporate Card Purchases: Eligible purchases on Slash’s corporate charge cards can earn cash back, with the Free plan advertising up to 1.5%. Businesses with qualifying spending may offset some operating expenses, but excluded merchants and transactions can reduce actual rewards.

Cons

  • Corporate Charge Cards Require Full Daily Repayment: Slash’s documented charge-card balance is due in full daily rather than monthly. Businesses seeking to carry purchases between billing cycles should evaluate a separate credit product.
  • Domestic Wires and Expedited Payments Carry Fees: Slash’s Free-plan pricing page lists $6 per outgoing domestic wire, $1 per eligible same-day ACH transfer and $5 per outgoing FedNow/RTP payment. Its account-agreement schedule lists a different real-time transfer fee, so businesses should confirm their applicable charges before comparing Free with Pro.
  • Cash Deposits and Outgoing Paper Checks Are Not Supported: Slash does not offer branch or ATM cash deposits or outgoing paper checks. Businesses accepting physical cash or paying vendors who require checks need another banking arrangement or payment method.
  • Mobile Check Deposits Have Limited Availability: Mobile check deposit is documented as a request-only beta rather than a universally available account feature. Businesses regularly receiving customer checks should confirm access and processing conditions before relying on Slash as their primary account.
  • Checking Balances Do Not Earn Interest: Slash’s deposit accounts do not earn interest. Businesses maintaining substantial cash reserves should evaluate separate interest-bearing alternatives or Slash Treasury, which requires a separate application and involves investment risks rather than FDIC-insured deposit interest.

FinanceProspector Feature Scores

The average uses the three feature scores shown in Quick Verdict, with equal weight for each. It excludes unscored features and is not an overall account rating. The calculation is (9.5 + 8.7 + 8.9) ÷ 3 = 9.033…, rounded to 9.0/10.

These scores measure only the named feature comparisons, not customer-service quality, investment returns or every aspect of the account. Read FinanceProspector Editorial Methodology.

Slash Free Plan Fees and Transaction Charges

Use the fees below to estimate costs from your expected payment activity and physical-card orders.

The listed Free-plan payment fees follow Slash’s plan-specific pricing page. Its account-agreement fee schedule differs on real-time transfers and instant deposits: the agreement lists $1 for outgoing real-time transfers and a $50 minimum for instant deposits, while the pricing page lists $5 and a $50 maximum, respectively. For international wires involving currency conversion, that schedule also lists a 3% conversion charge in addition to the $25 wire fee. Confirm the charge shown for your account before using these services.

Slash Free Plan Versus Pro

Pro starts at $25 per month and lists $0 outgoing domestic-wire and eligible same-day ACH fees. If those charges on Free exceed $25 in a month, Pro’s starting subscription costs less for that activity. Other charges and eligibility conditions apply.

Slash's current pricing page lists outgoing FedNow/RTP at $5 on Free and $0 on Pro, and a card foreign-transaction fee of 1% with a $0.40 minimum on both plans. Confirm the charges and card agreement applicable to your account before using these services. The pictured deposit-insurance statement remains subject to Slash's deposit-insurance disclosure.

Cashback Eligibility and Redemption

Cashback applies to qualifying purchases. Slash lists exclusions for foreign transactions, cash equivalents, refunded or disputed purchases and account fees. Its restricted-merchant list includes Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, PayPal, Walmart and Costco.

FinanceProspector’s Take: Estimate cashback from your eligible purchases before using the advertised “up to 1.5%” rate in a budget. If much of your spending goes to excluded merchants, your total card spending will overstate the amount that can earn rewards. For illustration, if $4,000 of a $10,000 purchase budget is eligible and earns 1.5%, the reward would be $60, equivalent to 0.6% of the full budget. This assumes the eligible purchases qualify for that rate; it is not a forecast of what your business will earn.

Rewards must be redeemed; they are not automatically applied to the account balance. Late payments or an overdrawn account can affect eligibility to earn or redeem cashback. Keep available rewards separate from the funds needed for card repayment.

How Payment Size Changes the Relative Wire Cost

When comparing payment routes, consider the fee alongside the amount you are sending. A fixed $25 wire fee takes a larger share of a small supplier payment than a large one, as the examples below show.

Slash Team Access and Cards

Decide who can make purchases, who can manage cards and who will reconcile transactions. These responsibilities may belong to different people, so evaluate permissions against each person’s job. Unlimited virtual cards does not establish an unlimited number of users.

Slash offers an iOS app. Access to individual features depends on account eligibility and user permissions.

Integrations and Team Permissions

Slash public illustration of physical and virtual corporate charge cards Slash public card illustration showing spending limits and transaction controls Slash public illustration of employee card-access permissions
Slash’s public card illustrations showing sample spending limits and employee card access. View Slash Corporate Cards
  • Team Roles: Owner, Admin, Employee and Accountant roles, plus custom roles. Check each person’s assigned permissions rather than relying on the role name alone.
  • Card Controls: Pause, unpause or permanently close cards through the dashboard, subject to permissions. Decide who is authorized to change card status.
  • Accounting Connections: Transaction feeds for QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, Sage, FreshBooks and Wave. Choose the system that holds your records and assign someone to reconcile imported transactions.
  • Developer Tools: Free-plan API access supports cards and spending-limit management; webhooks send account-event notifications. Decide who will build and maintain any automation.
  • Statements: Monthly and custom-date-range downloads. Match the reporting period to your bookkeeping needs.

FinanceProspector’s Take: Before distributing cards across a team, compare expected daily spending with the cash available for repayment. Slash’s full daily repayment requirement can matter when employees buy inventory or services before customers pay you. Set spending limits around the cash your business can fund each day, rather than treating the card as a way to bridge a gap until month-end.

Slash Additional Products and Services

Beyond checking and cards, Slash describes services with separate applications or eligibility requirements. They are separate from the Slash Free Plan benefits evaluated here.

Treasury Investments

Treasury requires a separate investment-account application. Slash names BlackRock’s TSTXX Treasury fund and Morgan Stanley’s MULSX ultra-short income portfolio. TSTXX invests in Treasury securities; MULSX uses an ultra-short bond strategy.

Separate money needed for upcoming bills and daily card repayment from funds you are considering investing. Treasury returns come from securities rather than interest on the checking balance, so compare investment risk and access to funds before allocating operating reserves. The provider and risk disclosures appear under Slash Legal Disclosures and Deposit Protection.

Stablecoin Payments

After stablecoin transfers are separately enabled, Slash documents sending and receiving USDC and USDT. Incoming stablecoins are automatically converted to U.S. dollars and deposited into the Slash account.

Before arranging a transfer, confirm the supported currency, network and transaction terms. The digital-asset providers and insurance distinctions are set out under Slash Legal Disclosures and Deposit Protection.

Working-Capital Applications

Working-capital applications are completed separately on Slope’s platform. One owner or control person must authorize a personal-credit soft pull. Slash account approval and financing approval are separate decisions.

Review the individual financing offer for the amount, fees, repayment obligations and any guaranty requirements. The lending-provider relationship is set out under Slash Legal Disclosures and Deposit Protection.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Is Slash Finance, and Who Provides the Banking Services?

‘Slash finance’ refers here to Slash’s business financial platform. Slash is a financial technology company; banking services are provided by Column N.A., Member FDIC.

How Does Daily Charge-Card Repayment Work?

The Slash Card balance is due in full daily, so funds must be available for repayment. It does not provide a revolving balance that can be carried into later billing periods.

Can I Deposit Cash?

No, including at ATMs. Cash must be deposited through another institution before the resulting funds can be transferred to Slash.

Can I Deposit or Write Checks?

Mobile check deposit is request-only beta. Slash does not support outgoing checks or branch and mail check deposits.

How Do Standard ACH and Same-Day ACH Differ?

ACH is an electronic bank-to-bank payment network; same-day ACH is an expedited option for eligible transactions. Slash’s ACH guide and account-agreement fee schedule list $1 per outgoing ACH credit for Free users. The plan-pricing page also lists $1 for eligible same-day ACH. Confirm the applicable charge and processing option before sending rather than assuming standard ACH is free.

Do the Connected-Bank Funding Limits Apply to Every Way of Adding Money?

The documented limit applies to connected-bank ACH pulls into Slash. The cited information does not establish limits for other funding routes. See the funding table under ‘Slash Funding, Transfers and Access to Money’ for the stated cap.

Are Accounting Bank Feeds the Same as Invoicing?

No. Bank feeds move transaction information into accounting software; invoicing creates or manages customer invoices. Slash separately documents creating, sending and tracking invoices from its dashboard. Confirm the payment methods, eligibility and any processing fees available to your account.

How Does Two-Factor Authentication Work for Team Members?

Each user configures authenticator-app two-factor authentication separately. One person’s setup does not require it for everyone else.
