Rho Business Bank Review
Rho Business Banking Review (2026): Fees, Pros & Cons
Rho Business Checking Plan
Rho combines business checking with payment, invoicing, expense-management and accounting tools. This review focuses on Rho Business Checking and distinguishes its included functions from separately approved cards, savings, investments and financing.
Rho Banking Quick Verdict
Who Is Rho Business Checking Best For? Rho is worth considering for U.S.-incorporated LLCs and corporations that want to manage digital payments, invoice customers and connect accounting software from the same platform. Checking has no monthly fee or minimum-balance requirement, and Rho lists $0 charges for standard ACH, domestic wires and eligible same-day ACH.
Check Your Business Needs: Rho does not accept cash deposits or offer branches. Its documented cards are a separately approved corporate-card product; an included checking debit card is not established. International payment charges, payment-review conditions and separate-product terms still matter.
This average covers the five comparisons below, not every account feature, fee or customer experience.
- Domestic Transfer Costs — : standard outgoing ACH, outgoing domestic wires and incoming domestic wires.
- Monthly and Overdraft Fees — : the monthly fee and Rho's stated overdraft fee; other charges are separate.
- Payment Options — : international payments, bill pay, provider-mailed checks and customer-written paper checks.
- Invoicing and Accounting Connections — : included invoicing and automatic connections to named accounting software.
- Expedited ACH Fee — : the provider fee for a $1,000 same-day ACH payment.
Rho Business Checking: Pros and Cons
Pros
- No Monthly Maintenance or Per-User Fees: Rho Business Checking has no monthly subscription fee, minimum balance requirement or per-user charge. Businesses can add team members and manage banking activity without increasing recurring platform costs, although international payments and certain exceptions carry fees.
- Free Domestic ACH, Wires and Eligible Same-Day Payments: Rho charges no provider fee for standard ACH, domestic wires or qualifying same-day ACH transfers. Businesses making frequent supplier and payroll-related payments can reduce transaction costs, although processing cutoffs, transfer limits and payment reviews still apply.
- Integrated Bill Pay, Invoicing and Accounting Automation: Included accounts payable, customer invoicing, expense management and accounting integrations help businesses coordinate payments and financial records without a separate Rho software subscription. Card acceptance and third-party software may still involve charges.
- Multiple Checking Sub-Accounts for Cash Organization: Rho allows businesses to create additional checking sub-accounts for payroll, taxes and operating expenses. Separating balances by purpose can improve cash-flow visibility, although additional accounts do not automatically increase FDIC insurance coverage.
- Custom User Permissions and Payment Approvals: Configurable roles, access permissions and approval workflows help businesses delegate financial tasks while maintaining oversight. Owners can separate payment preparation from authorization, reducing the need to provide every employee with unrestricted account access.
Cons
- Limited Cash Access and No Branch Banking: Rho does not accept cash deposits or provide traditional branch banking. Its documented corporate cards cannot be used for ATM cash withdrawals, and an included checking debit card is not established. Businesses requiring regular cash handling should consider a separate banking arrangement.
- Business Checking Does Not Earn Interest: Rho’s checking balances do not earn APY. Interest-bearing Business Savings and Rho Treasury are separate products with different requirements and protections. Treasury involves investment risk and is not FDIC-insured, so businesses should evaluate where to hold operating reserves.
- International Payments Carry Conversion and Service Fees: Foreign-currency transfers incur a published 1% conversion fee, and a $15 SWIFT charge may apply, depending on the payment route. Recipient and intermediary banks can impose additional costs, making the total payment expense important when comparing international transfer options.
- Corporate Cards Require Separate Approval: Rho’s physical and virtual corporate cards are not automatically included as checking debit cards. Card access depends on approval and repayment terms, so businesses needing employee purchasing capabilities should assess the separate card program before relying on it.
- Sole Proprietorships and Certain Businesses Are Ineligible: Rho Business Checking is intended for eligible U.S.-incorporated LLCs and corporations rather than sole proprietorships. Ownership, operating-address, industry and verification requirements can restrict access, making eligibility an important consideration before applying.

FinanceProspector Feature Scores
Each score covers a defined feature comparison rather than the entire account. The display scale runs from 7.5 to 9.5, and figures are shown out of 10. These comparisons do not assess every fee, product feature or customer experience. Read FinanceProspector Editorial Methodology.
| Feature Comparison | Score | What It Measures |
|---|---|---|
| Domestic Transfer Costs | 9.5/10 | $0 standard outgoing ACH, $0 outgoing domestic wire and $0 incoming domestic wire. Failed-transfer, international and third-party charges are outside these inputs. |
| Monthly and Overdraft Fees | 9.5/10 | $0 monthly fee and Rho's published statement that it charges no overdraft fee. The overdraft statement is on its small-business page; this does not establish that overdrawing is permitted or that every other charge is $0. |
| Payment Options | 9.1/10 | International payments, included bill pay and provider-mailed checks are documented. Customer-written checkbooks are not offered. |
| Invoicing and Accounting Connections | 9.5/10 | Included invoicing and automatic connections to named accounting software. Payment processing, integration setup and separate card approval are not assessed by this score. |
| Expedited ACH Fee | 9.5/10 | $0 provider fee for one $1,000 same-day ACH payment; cutoff, approval and settlement conditions still apply. |
Cash and ATM access, included team cards, the outgoing USD international-wire fee and the foreign-currency card-purchase fee are not scored here. The evidence does not establish every required checking-account input for those comparisons. An unscored comparison is not a low score.
Rho Fees and Transaction Charges
Rho does not charge a monthly checking fee or require a minimum balance to waive one. Its published $0 domestic-payment charges should be read alongside the exceptions below.
| Service | Published Charge | Material Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly Checking | $0 | No subscription tier or balance-based waiver is required. |
| Standard ACH | $0 | Sending and receiving; bank and transaction reviews can apply. |
| Same-Day ACH | $0 | Created before 2 p.m. Eastern and under $1 million under the documented processing rules. |
| Domestic Wire | $0 | Sending and receiving; a failed wire returned to the account is a separate event. |
| Provider-Mailed Check | $0 | Rho prints and mails the check; delivery and payment conditions apply. |
| Overdraft | Rho states no overdraft fee | A payment initiated without sufficient available funds does not complete. This is not an overdraft-credit promise. |
| Failed Domestic Wire Returned to Rho | Rho lists an approximate $20–$45 charge | This is a failed-wire charge, not a verified NSF or returned-check fee. |
| Foreign-Currency Conversion | 1% | Separate international-service and third-party fees may apply. |
| SWIFT Service | $15 is disclosed | Optional flat charge to cover recipient delivery fees; review the transfer estimate and any additional bank charges. |
| Wire Recall | Confirm the applicable charge | Pricing distinguishes $0 domestic recall and $30 international recall, while the platform terms use broader $30 wire-recall wording. |
The available evidence does not establish an NSF or returned-item fee for every returned ACH debit, deposited check or rejected payment. Do not read that gap as a $0-fee promise. Recipient, correspondent and intermediary banks can also charge on international payments.
Rho Illustrative Payment-Cost Examples
These examples use only the documented provider charges for the named domestic routes.
| Example | Calculation | Rho Provider Charge |
|---|---|---|
| One $1,000 Eligible Same-Day ACH Payment | 1 payment × $0 | $0 |
| Two $5,000 Domestic Wires | 2 wires × $0 | $0 |
| Three Provider-Mailed Checks | 3 checks × $0 | $0 |
These are charge illustrations, not delivery or approval guarantees. They exclude failed or returned payments, recalls, foreign-currency conversion, international services, card processing and third-party charges. The amounts do not establish your account's approved transfer limits.
Rho Funding, Transfers and Access to Money
Rho supports incoming ACH and wires, transfers from linked business accounts, and check-image deposits. On the web dashboard, payments are created through Banking and its transfer controls; the mobile app supports payments and approval review. Bulk payment uploads by CSV are also documented.
ACH and Linked Accounts
Rho lists an aggregate outgoing ACH limit of $40 million per day, with larger amounts potentially available by prior arrangement. Its incoming ACH-pull limit is $40 million per day, with $10 million per transaction. Those pull limits should not be treated as a separately established limit for ACH credits sent in by someone else.
Linked external accounts must be business accounts with a name that matches the Rho account. Personal accounts are not eligible for that linking route. Rho lists a $10 million per-transaction limit for linked-account transfers, with larger amounts by arrangement, and describes settlement as taking up to five business days.
Same-Day Payments and Domestic Wires
The documented same-day ACH condition is creation before 2 p.m. Eastern for a payment under $1 million. Domestic wires created before 4:45 p.m. Eastern are described as same-day; later wires move to the next business day. These are processing descriptions, not a promise that every reviewed or restricted payment will settle that day.
Rho lists a $90 million daily outgoing domestic-wire limit, with larger wires potentially accommodated by advance arrangement. A domestic wire cannot be cancelled once its status is Pending. Rho may impose transaction limits and additional review, including on new accounts.
FinanceProspector’s Take — Plan Backward from Your Payment Deadline
Rho’s documented same-day ACH route requires payments to be created before 2 p.m. Eastern and to be under $1 million. Build time for your team’s review and approval before that cutoff. A $0 payment fee does not make a missed deadline cost-free for your business.
International Payments
Rho documents international payments through Wise US Inc. to more than 200 countries and territories in supported currencies. Country and currency restrictions apply. This does not establish a multi-currency deposit account.
The 1% foreign-currency conversion charge is separate from SWIFT and possible recipient or intermediary-bank charges. Rho offers an optional flat $15 charge to cover recipient delivery fees; otherwise those fees are deducted from the transfer amount. Fee totals shown before sending are estimates, so review the intended route before authorizing it.
Check Deposits and Mailed Checks
Checks can be deposited as images through the mobile app or uploaded through the web dashboard. Rho accepts U.S. checks with nine-digit ABA routing numbers through this route, not check deposits by mail or in person at the partner bank's offices. The mobile check-deposit control requires the relevant terms to have been accepted through a web browser first.
Rho's pages describe ordinary clearing as two to three or three business days, with risk-based review potentially extending it to six or seven business days. Its transfer-limits page lists six to seven business days without the same distinction. Plan around the availability shown for your deposit rather than treating the shortest published timing as guaranteed. Deposits over $15,000 in one business day may receive additional screening, and new accounts may face longer review.
Rho can print and mail a check to a U.S. payee. Funds are set aside immediately; delivery can take up to eight business days by USPS. Checks uncashed after 90 calendar days are voided. Rho does not offer customer checkbooks or support third-party check printing on the account.
Cash and Branch Access
Rho states that it does not accept cash deposits and has no brick-and-mortar branches. Its card FAQs also say Rho cards cannot be used for ATM cash withdrawals. The available evidence does not establish a separate checking debit or ATM card.
Rho Sub-Accounts and Cash Organization
Rho allows additional checking sub-accounts for purposes such as payroll, taxes or operating expenses, with no stated limit on the number of secondary checking accounts. These are checking sub-accounts, not the separate Business Savings account.
Creating additional sub-accounts does not increase your deposit-insurance limit. Assess the combined balance held at each partner bank; the Legal Disclosures section explains the coverage conditions.
Rho Team Access and Cards
Rho documents user roles, custom permissions and approval controls. Account Owners and Administrators manage user access. The named default roles include Account Owner, Administrator, Department Owner, Employee, Bookkeeper and Investor; the role guide also describes external-access roles. Review the actual permission settings rather than relying on a role's name alone.
The documented Rho cards are corporate cards issued by Lead Bank or Webster Bank, a division of Santander Bank, N.A., as applicable and subject to approval. They are not established as debit cards included with Business Checking. Rho describes unlimited virtual and physical corporate cards, spending limits, receipt capture and expense-management controls within the card program.
Daily Terms card repayment is automatically debited from Rho checking for settled charges. The daily credit limit depends on the checking balance and risk factors and can change. Monthly Terms are a separate repayment arrangement, subject to the applicable approval and agreement.
FinanceProspector’s Take — Separate Banking Access from Card Approval
If employees need cards, assess Rho’s corporate-card requirements separately from the checking account. The documented cards are a separately approved product; the evidence does not establish that a debit card comes with checking. Confirm the card arrangement before planning how employees will pay business expenses.
Rho Bill Pay, Invoicing and Accounting Tools
Bill Pay
Rho lists bill pay, accounts-payable automation, expense management and accounting automation at no software cost for customers with Rho accounts. That does not make every payment route or separate financing product free. International-transfer and processing charges still need to be considered separately.
Expense Management
Rho's expense-management platform is included for Rho customers without user or platform-usage fees. It provides receipt capture and expense controls alongside the separately approved corporate-card program. User roles, spending limits and approval settings should be reviewed separately from the checking account's payment fees.
Vendor Bills and Customer Invoices
Paying a vendor bill and collecting payment from a customer are different workflows. Rho includes accounts-payable tools for outgoing bills and a separate customer-invoicing workflow for collecting payments into checking. The illustration below shows vendor setup and payment-account fields; the customer-invoicing process is explained in the next subsection.
Customer Invoicing
Rho Invoicing is included for Rho customers without a monthly or per-invoice fee. The documented workflow lets a business create and email an invoice, receive payment into Rho and match the payment to the invoice. The customer paying does not need a Rho account.
Rho lists $0 provider charges on domestic ACH, domestic wire and check payments into checking. Card acceptance is subject to Stripe verification and approval and carries a stated 2.9% plus $0.30 processing charge. Included invoicing does not make every collection method free or guarantee card-processing approval.
Accounting Connections and API
Rho's banking page names automatic connections to QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Sage Intacct and Xero. Its API page also names Puzzle among its native connections. Setup and sync settings matter: Rho's QuickBooks guidance describes a manual Sync control as well as an option to configure recurring automatic syncs.
QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop are different routes. Rho's direct-integration instructions are for QuickBooks Online; the documented Desktop alternative is exporting transactions as CSV and uploading the file.
Rho also supports custom integrations through API access tokens, bank-data connections through Plaid and Finicity, and linking a Rho account to Gusto. A connection to payroll software is not an included Rho payroll service.
Rho Additional Products and Services
Business Savings
Business Savings is a separate account with its own balance, transfer and program conditions. The captured product terms require a $25,000 average monthly balance to earn interest and cap transfers back to checking at six per month. Rho describes those transfers as typically taking up to two business days.
The savings program offers access to up to $75 million in FDIC deposit-insurance capacity through American Deposit Management Co. and partner banks, subject to program and FDIC requirements. Rho states that the advertised amount reflects network capacity, not a guarantee. This is separate from checking coverage.
Treasury
Rho Treasury is an investment product, not a bank deposit. The saved materials describe a $50,000 minimum investment and a management fee under its separate advisory terms. Treasury is not FDIC-insured or bank-guaranteed and can lose value, including principal.
FinanceProspector’s Take — Decide Which Cash Must Stay Available
Rho Checking does not earn interest. Before moving money into a separate Savings or Treasury product, identify what you need for payroll, bills and upcoming payments. Then compare the separate product’s access conditions and protections: Treasury is an investment product, not a bank deposit.
Corporate Cards
Rho's corporate-card product has its own approval, credit and repayment terms. Rho Platinum is a card-rewards status, not a paid checking plan.
Rho Capital
Rho Capital is a separate financing offering. Rho describes a revolving working-capital line rather than a term loan or venture-debt facility, with financing offered by third parties. Availability depends on underwriting, and a personal guaranty may be required. Do not treat it as credit automatically included with checking.
Using Rho's Public Website
- Comparing Account Terms: use the Business Banking page and Pricing together to separate checking charges from corporate-card, savings and investment terms.
- Finding Payment Conditions: consult the payment help articles for cutoffs, transfer reviews, check handling and failed-wire charges.
- Checking Separate Products: read the relevant Savings, Treasury, Capital or corporate-card disclosures before assuming a benefit belongs to checking.
- Finding Help: use Rho's Help Center for account and payment guidance, or its published contact channels for your specific question. Visit Rho Website
Rho Eligibility and Application Requirements
Rho Business Checking is for U.S.-incorporated LLCs and corporations. Sole proprietorships are not eligible. Its guidance for owners outside the United States requires either a U.S. operating address or at least one U.S.-based business owner with a valid SSN. Virtual addresses are not permitted.
Industry and geographic restrictions apply. Check Rho's eligibility requirements for your legal entity, ownership and activity before applying. The existence of a public online application does not establish approval for every business type.
Documents to Prepare
- Business Tax Identification: an EIN from the IRS.
- Formation Documents: Articles of Organization for an LLC or Articles of Incorporation for a corporation. Rho's LLC guidance also advises multi-member LLCs to have their operating agreement ready.
- Ownership Details: information for owners holding 25% or more. Rho's application guidance describes adding a person with substantial control where no individual meets that ownership threshold.
- Identity Verification: a government-issued photo ID for owners and signers, along with the personal information requested during verification. Rho's application guidance identifies the SSN as part of its customer-identification process.
Application and Review
Rho's application is online. Rho says completing it can take under ten minutes when the required information is ready; this is not a promise of account approval or activation within ten minutes. Its team reviews the submission, and products and services remain subject to approval. Rho's guidance allows an incomplete application to be resumed using the email address used to start it. Rho Support Channels and Contact Options
- Phone: 1-855-743-8746.
- Email: clientservice@rho.co.
- Logged-In Chat: available through Help in the web dashboard and mobile app according to Rho's contact guide.
- Availability: Rho's contact page advertises around-the-clock human support, while its card FAQ lists Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–8 p.m. Eastern in a card-support context. Confirm the channel and hours for your issue rather than assuming identical availability for every request.
Rho Account Security and Controls
Rho documents two-factor authentication, configurable transaction and card-creation policies, notification preferences, and suspicious-activity alerts. Its pages differ on whether every login always prompts for another factor or whether that behavior depends on an administrator setting. Review the settings enabled for your organization.
ACH debit authorizations let Account Owners and Administrators control which counterparties may pull money from particular checking accounts and within specified limits. Debits outside those authorizations are flagged for review, and a default-action setting determines what happens if no one responds in the review window. Changes to these authorizations require multi-factor authentication.
Corporate cards can be locked or unlocked through the dashboard. The mobile app supports locking, unlocking or cancelling a user's own card; the captured guidance does not establish management of all team cards from the app.
Rho Legal Disclosures and Deposit Protection
- Rho is a financial technology company, not a bank or an FDIC-insured depository institution.
- Checking account and card services are provided by Webster Bank, a division of Santander Bank, N.A., and Lead Bank, Members FDIC, as applicable.
- Rho's current Lead Bank disclosure describes eligible checking deposits as potentially covered up to $250,000 per depositor, per insured bank, per ownership category. Other deposits at Lead Bank in the same category count toward that limit. Pass-through coverage requires qualifying ownership, account structure and records, and applies only while funds are deposits at the insured bank. Confirm the bank and terms applicable to your account. FDIC insurance does not cover Rho's failure.
- FDIC insurance protects against failure of an insured bank holding eligible deposits. It does not insure the failure of Rho or another nonbank service provider.
- Business Savings has a separate partner-bank program. Its advertised insurance capacity is not checking-account coverage or an unconditional guarantee.
- Rho Treasury investments are not deposits, are not FDIC-insured or bank-guaranteed, and can lose principal.
- International and foreign-currency payment services are provided through Wise US Inc. Separate service, intermediary and recipient-bank charges can apply.
- The platform terms incorporate a separate bank deposit agreement. Review the agreements supplied during opening for account-specific conditions, holds, fees and dispute requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Rho Business Checking Have a Monthly Fee?
Rho lists no monthly fee or minimum-balance requirement for Business Checking. Domestic ACH, domestic wires and eligible same-day ACH also have $0 provider charges. Failed wires, international services, card processing and separate products can have charges.
Can a Sole Proprietor Open Rho Business Checking?
No. The documented checking eligibility requires a U.S.-incorporated LLC or corporation. A sole proprietor should not assume an SSN alone meets Rho's business-account requirements.
Does Rho Accept Cash Deposits or Offer ATM Withdrawals?
Rho states that it does not accept cash deposits and has no branches. Its corporate-card FAQs say Rho cards cannot withdraw cash at ATMs. A separate debit or ATM card included with checking is not established in the available evidence.
Does a Rho Checking Account Include a Debit Card?
The documented cards are a separately approved corporate-card product with Daily or Monthly Terms. The evidence does not establish a checking debit card included with the account.
Can I Deposit Checks with Rho?
Rho supports U.S. check-image deposits through the mobile app and web dashboard. Validation, holds and additional screening can apply. Its pages give different clearing periods, so rely on the availability shown for your deposit rather than assuming immediate access.
Is Rho Invoicing Free?
Rho lists no monthly or per-invoice fee for its included invoicing tool. Card acceptance requires Stripe approval and carries a stated 2.9% plus $0.30 processing charge. A free invoicing tool does not mean every payment method is free.
Does Rho Checking Earn Interest?
No. Interest-bearing Business Savings and the Treasury investment service are separate products with their own conditions, access rules and protections.
Are Rho Checking and Treasury Protected in the Same Way?
No. Eligible checking deposits have bank deposit-insurance protection subject to FDIC requirements. Treasury is an investment product, not an insured deposit, and can lose value. The separate Savings program also has its own partner-bank arrangements.
Glossary of Terms
Terms Used in This Article
- Same-Day ACH

- ACH Debit Authorization

- Daily Terms
- Rho's corporate-card repayment arrangement that automatically debits checking for settled card activity on its documented daily schedule.
